What are your collection days and hours?

Collection days vary depending on your location and service type. Residential collections are typically Monday through Saturday, while commercial collections may include Sundays. When you sign up, you will be provided with a specific collection schedule. You can also indicate your preferred day on the request form. Collections generally occur between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM.

How does the recycling service work?

We encourage sorting at the source using our Color-Coded Liners system: Green for organics, Blue for recyclables, Red for hazardous waste, and Black for general waste. We can provide you with separate labeled bags or bins for recyclables. Our team will then collect them on the scheduled day and transport them to our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) for processing.

What happens if I miss my collection day?

Please contact your local branch office as soon as possible. We will do our best to arrange an alternative collection, though an extra fee may apply for emergency or same-day services. Most branches offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your needs.

Do you provide waste containers and liners?

Yes, we supply high-quality, durable garbage bags and liners in various sizes and colors for waste segregation. We offer bulk discounts for corporate clients and regular supply schedules. Our liners are designed to be strong, leak-proof, and environmentally friendly.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Nairobi and Kiambu counties, including areas such as Westlands, Ruaka, Gachie, Limuru, Kikuyu, Kabete, Uthiru, Lari, Banana Hill, and many other residential estates and commercial zones. Contact us to confirm service availability in your specific location.

How much do your services cost?

Pricing depends on the type of service, frequency of collection, and location. Residential services start from KSh 1,500 per month, while commercial services are customized based on waste volume. Do you offer commercial waste management services?

Yes, we provide comprehensive commercial waste management solutions for offices, retail spaces, restaurants, hotels, and industrial facilities. Our services include daily collections, corporate waste audits, document shredding, and specialized handling for different types of commercial waste.

What is your waste segregation policy?

We strongly encourage waste segregation using our Color-Coded Liners system. Green liners for organic waste, Blue for recyclables, Red for hazardous materials, and Black for general waste. Proper segregation improves recycling rates, reduces landfill waste, and can lower your service costs.

Do you handle hazardous waste?

We do not handle hazardous or medical waste. For hazardous materials, please contact licensed hazardous waste disposal companies or your local environmental authority. We can, however, provide guidance on proper hazardous waste disposal procedures.

What happens to the waste you collect?

Collected waste is transported to our licensed facilities. Recyclables are processed at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF), organic waste goes to our composting facility, and general waste is disposed of at licensed landfills in accordance with NEMA regulations.

Are you NEMA licensed?

Yes, Trash Handlers Limited is fully licensed by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) for waste collection, transportation, and disposal. We comply with all environmental regulations and maintain the highest standards of environmental responsibility.

Do you offer same-day or emergency services?

Yes, we offer emergency waste collection services for urgent situations. Additional fees may apply for same-day or emergency collections. Contact your local branch immediately to arrange emergency service.

Can I change my collection schedule?

Yes, we offer flexible scheduling. Contact your local branch at least 24 hours in advance to change your collection day or time. Some schedule changes may require adjustment of your service agreement.

What should I do if my waste bin is damaged or missing?

Contact your local branch immediately. We will arrange for repair or replacement of damaged bins. For missing bins, we can provide temporary containers while arranging for replacement. Additional charges may apply for lost or damaged equipment.

How do I prepare for waste collection?

Do you provide service in gated communities?

Yes, we serve many gated communities and estates. Our drivers are familiar with security procedures and can coordinate with estate management for smooth collections. Some communities may require additional access arrangements.

What is your environmental commitment?
